An armorer is a person who works in an armory, whose duty is to maintain and repair small arms. It is also a junior officer position aboard Royal Navy ships, and they can also be found aboard pirate vessels. Aboard ships, armorers ensure that the crew’s arsenal of small arms, which usually consisted of muskets, swords, axes, and pistols is up to shape. These duties could include the sharpening of blades and the repairing of firearms.
Logan was the armorer of the Walrus. He was shown performing his duties as armorer when sharpening Joji’s katana and when he inspected the ship’s weapons with Billy Bones. Logan is seemingly replaced by Dooley, a member of the vanguard, who shows his skill in repairing a flintlock pistol.
