The Ashley River is a tidal and blackwater river in the Province of Carolina.
Geography[]
The river begins in the swamps north of Charles Town. After about five miles, it widens into a tidal estuary before flowing for 17 miles before reaching the city. The wider Ashley River then joins the Cooper River off the Battery, forming the Charles Town Harbor.

Season Two[]
During the Sack of Charles Town, Flint orders his men to sail the Spanish Man O' War towards the sandbar at the southwest corner of the bay, near the entrance to the Ashley River. His gun crews then continue to level the city from there.
