Biography[]
Season Four[]
While Underhill and his slave,Ruth, tend to his sick wife Margaret, Audrey sleeps in their room. While Underhill wipes her head with a wet towel, Margaret asks him if Audrey is asleep. Underhill jokingly asks Audrey if she’s asleep yet, to which she answers “yes.” This amuses both her parents, and Underhill tells his wife that Audrey is her daughter. Their estate then comes under attack by pirates. Their guards are quickly overrun. Audrey’s father knocks a table over as a barricade in front of the door and obtains a blunderbuss, while her mother takes her to the other side of the bed and loads a pistol. The first pirate to barge into the room is shot by Underhill, butFlint quickly shoots him in the shoulder. Flint pulls his other pistol on Margaret, who uses her body and the bed to shield Audrey. Flint begs her not to shoot, saying if she does, he’ll have to, and he does not want to kill her in front of her daughter. After a brief but tense standoff, Ruth pries the pistol out of Margaret’s hands. Madi andKofi then arrive and greet Ruth, who tells them that they have to go.
Billy Bones andJacob Garrett then arrive, and say that they encountered something very strange. Before they can explain, Madi predicts that they found the doors to the slave quarters locked from the inside. Madi explains that Ruth told her that after she procured Mr. Scott’s weapons stockpile, the slave owning families split the family members of the slaves between their estates. If any slaves rebelled or allowed the estate to fall to the pirates, their family members would be punished cruelly. While the pirates discuss this, Margaret and Audrey sit with the wounded Underhill. Flint and Madi attempt to lead the pirates away from the estate, but Billy refuses, leading to standoff between their men. The pirates begin fighting each other, but the militia from the other plantations arrives. Flint, Madi and their men retreat into the fields, while Billy and his men stay and fight[1].
Billy and his men prevail, and later execute Audrey, her mother and her father. When Captain Berringer arrests Max, he orders her to divulge the names of her informants in the Pirate Resistance. He tells her that since she first refused to give him the names, the pirates have murdered one of Berringer's men, four of Max's and the Underhill family, including the eight year old Audrey[2].
As revenge, slaves on the Edwards Estate are cruelly tortured as retribution for their family members allowing the Underhills to be killed. As Amara is whipped with burning branches, Sayle the overseer gives a speech to the assembled slaves about how the fates of the slaves and the slaveowners are linked. He says that they are being punished because their family members allowed the pirates to take the Underhill estate, resulting in the deaths of Underhill and his family[3].

Trivia[]
- Captain Berringer describes her as being eight years old when telling Max of her murder, but Sayle says that she is nine when addressing the slaves on the Edwards Estate. However, this can be seen as less of a plot error and more that the characters were estimating her age.
- In Season 2, it is mentioned that Robert Thompson's wife and nine-year-old son were murdered, dragged out into the street with their throats slit, because of a betting dispute between Robert Thompson and Edward Teach. This tale is not to be confused with the one of Billy Bones murdering Audrey in Season 4. These two scenarios are separate despite the stories' similarities.
