King George I signs an act granting aRoyal Pardon to the pirates of Nassau after being convinced by the newly appointed Royal Governor of New Providence Island, Woodes Rogers, who was instructed to deliver and grant the pardon to any pirate who surrendered.

Benjamin Bennett printed certificates of the pardon to be granted to the pirates and acted as a notary for them. Woodes Rogers gave these pardon certificates to the pirates who surrendered.

- Benjamin Bennett served two terms as Governor of Bermuda in real life, and was the first to spread the news of the pardon to the pirates of Nassau. However, that took place in his second term from 1718-22. The Governor of Bermuda in 1715 in real life was Henry Pulleine.
