Berringer's son is the young child of Captain Berringer, an officer in the British Army.
Biography[]
Background[]
Berringer's father is part of the company of 700 Redcoats sent to assist Governor Woodes Rogers in restoring order to the Bahamas and getting rid of the pirates, while he and his mother remain in England. Following the Battle of the Maroon Island during which the British forces were defeated by the pirates, Berringer refused a direct order by his superiors to return to England after war with Spain breaks out, and led a desertion of several hundred redcoats, all united by the sole ambition to exact vengeance on the pirates who had murdered so many of their comrades. He swore his allegiance directly to Woodes Rogers, and dedicated himself to utterly destroying the pirate threat by any means possible[1].
Season Four[]
During moments to himself, Captain Berringer often gazes longingly at the pictures of his wife and son contained in his locket, such as the night before Governor Rogers is to depart Nassau. However, he keeps this to himself, closing the locket and telling Rogers that he is studying reports from his scouts when approached. During Berringer's final battle, he is wounded and subdued at knifepoint, and he discreetly clutches the locket. After his throat is cut, his body falls, and the locket falls out of his hand[2].
