Blackbeard's ship is a tall ship captained by Edward Teach after he returns to piracy.
History[]
Season Three[]
Tom, Caleb and Edgar board the ship in Bath and confront Teach in his cabin. They demand he return to his wife Mary Drummond, who is their sister. They believe he is a civilian named Drummond. Teach reveals who he is and kills them all. He then orders that the ship set a course for Nassau[1].
Upon his arrival in Nassau, Teach seeks out his old protege, Charles Vane. In Nassau, he also takes Ellers onto his crew[2]. Upon the approach of Woodes Rogers' Fleet, Teach commands the Pirate Fleet from his ship. Rogers sends Benjamin Hornigold ashore under a white flag. As Hornigold's longboat passes the bow of the ship, Ellers and Teach watch him and Ellers asks why they don't fire on him. Teach explains that many still remember Hornigold as one of the founders of the Pirate Republic, and if they fired on him under a flag of surrender, it would lead to infighting amongst the pirates. On the shore, Hornigold successfully gets many of the pirates to surrender with the offer of pardons and a bounty on Charles Vane's head[3].
A stalemate ensues, with the Pirate Fleet trapped between Rogers' fleet blockading the harbor, and the surrendered pirates loyal to Rogers. Rogers believes that they will have to surrender soon, for they will likely run out of stores. Eleanor is less optimistic, and believes they will fight to the end. Teach helps Vane escape a number of bounty seekers and they return to the ship. Once aboard, they discuss an escape plan. Vane asks if they can slip through the east channel when the tide rises. Teach informs him that they maneuvered a frigate around the Hog, which would rake any ship that tried to pass. Teach does remark that he is working on something to even the odds.
That night, Vane sails his schooner towards the British line. Rogers realizes something is amiss and orders that they cut their anchor cables and break formation. Vane then ignites the firetrap, revealing the ship to be a fireship, causing the British Fleet to break formation He swims back to the fleet while the pirates sail away[4].
En route to Ocracoke Island, the fleet comes across a Spanish Merchant Ship. The fleet surrounds the ship and Teach and Vane lead a boarding party from their own ship. They slaughter the Spanish crew and discover a trove of intelligence in the hold[5].
Teach leads the fleet to the Maroon Island, where he meets Jack Rackham and the Walrus. Teach now leads from the Spanish Man O' War, renamed the Revenge. They successfully route the British fleet[6].
Season Four[]
The ship is not part of the fleet that invades Nassau. It is possible that the ship was left behind to defend the Maroon Island[7].
