Biography[]

Season Three[]

The Sergeant was among the 700 man British Army contingent that is loaned to Woodes Rogers in his expedition to establish himself as Governor of New Providence Island.

After the island is successfully pacified, Rogers and his people move in. While Rogers is away, transporting the prisoner Jack Rackham and the Urca de Lima gems to a ship bound for Havana, the Sergeant conducts practice drills in the town square with his men. While they practice, Commodore Chamberlain argues nearby with Eleanor Guthrie and Max about the safety of the caravan, which they believe compromise. Chamberlain dismisses all of their concerns as ludicrous and begins walking away and Eleanor loudly warns him that the situation is about to spiral out of control, causing the Sergeant to turn towards the sound of the commotion. However, he quickly turns back to his men[1].

The Sergeant and his men stand guard around the gallows at the execution of Charles Vane. Ultimately, there are no public disturbances, and Vane is hanged after he is allowed his final words[2].

The Sergeant leads his men into combat at the Battle of the Maroon Island. After the fleet batters the pirates’ defenses with cannon fire, the Redcoats are deployed ashore with longboats. They then exchange musket fire with the pirates, but the pirates are forced to retreat once the British bring their mortars to bear. Major Rollins prepares to lead the Regulars in pursuing, but Captain Benjamin Hornigold advises against it, fearing a trap.

While they plan their next move, the Redcoats set up camp. The Sergeant relaxes with other officers in one of the tents. A pirate, Dobbs, then surrenders himself, and promises to lead the British forces to the Maroon Camp. After killing a Pirate Prisoner to prove his loyalty, Hornigold and Rollins order their men to prepare to move out. The Sergeant is likely killed in the ensuing ambush in the forest[3].
