The Cooper River is a mainly tidal river in the Province of Carolina.
Geography[]
The river is short and wide, and is joined by the East Branch and the Wando rivers. Almost immediately thereafter, the river widens into its estuary and unites with the Ashley River to form the Charles Town Harbor.

Season Two[]
Flint sails the Spanish Man O’ War up the Cooper into Charles Town Harbor in order to return Abigail Ashe to her father, Lord Governor Peter Ashe. As they sail upriver, the Charles Town Fleet deploys. Mr. Scott asks Flint if they’ll fire on them, but Flint thinks they’ll be safe as long as they're out of range of the Battery. The Boat Captain then leads a group of longboats to ask for Abigail’s return, and Flint, Miranda Barlow and Abigail go ashore with them.
During the Sack of Charles Town, the Charles Town Fleet in the harbor comes under fire from Charles Vane’s men who took over sections of the Battery. As they flee, Billy Bones orders the gun crews to fire on them, sinking the fleet. When Flint returns, he orders them to sail southwest towards the sandbar, near entrance to the Ashley River, to continue leveling the city.
