The Death Figure is an actress portraying a personification of Death in a play parodying the trial of Eleanor Guthrie.

Background[]
To cater to the pirates after taking ownership of the Tavern, Max puts on a play that crudely parodies Eleanor Guthrie’s trial. The Death Figure is one of three characters, the others being a Mock Judge and an Eleanor Impersonator. The Death Figure is nude, save for a bone corset that is supposed to be reminiscent of a ribcage, and a tall headdress with a skull. The Death Figure’s skin is painted from head to toe with soot.
Season Three[]
Mr. Scott watches the play being put on in the Tavern. In the final part of the play, the Mock Judge says that the evidence has been delivered, the accused measured, and that it is time time to talk about judgement. He then asks the Eleanor Impersonator if he (Eleanor is played by a man) has anything to say in his defense. The Eleanor Impersonator answers that he has one regret, for while he let the pirates of Nassau fill his pockets with coin, he never had the opportunity to let them fill him with anything else.
The Judge then says that Eleanor has been found guilty of all her crimes, for which the sentence is death. The Death Figure then descends the stairs, and approaches Eleanor. She then kisses the Eleanor Impersonator, who falls to the ground dead. At the conclusion of the play, the three actors bow to the audience’s applause.
