History[]

Background[]

The city of Philadelphia was built on the western bank of the river in 1682.

Season Four[]

Max informs Anne Bonny and Jack Rackham that they have left the bay and entered the Delaware River. They eventually arrive in Philadelphia, and dock in the city’s harbor, having to pay numerous fees to do so.

Shortly after, Rackham and Featherstone sail for Nassau, leaving Philadelphia via the Delaware. While staying in the city, Max and Marion Guthrie walk by the riverfront, and observe the pirates across from Springett Island on the east bank of the river. Marion remarks that she had long wished to walk the banks of the Charles River with Eleanor. While it is the wrong river and the wrong woman, she still finds it impressive to achieve something close to her fantasy. After the events of Skeleton Island, Jack and Featherstone return to the city victorious.

Quotes[]

“We have left the bay for the Delaware.”

- Max in XXXV.
