The Eagle was a pirate ship of Nassau during the Golden Age of Piracy.
History[]
Season Two[]
The crew of the Eagle is mentioned by Idelle to be recruiting by the beach. She tells Max that Anne Bonny approached them, seeking to join. The quartermaster tells her that if Jack Rackham does not want her on his crew, neither does he. In response, Anne grabs a marling spike and plunges it into the quartermaster's jaw, knocking out three teeth[1].
Season Three[]
The Eagle is part of the fleet of six ships under the command of Edward Teach to defend the harbor from the impending British invasion. Benjamin Hornigold is able to gain passage across the pirate lines under a flag of truce and read Woodes Rogers' address to the pirates on the beach. He declares that every man who wishes is to be pardoned, and a bounty is placed on the head of Charles Vane. The pirates on the beach then surrender en masse, while those on the fleet and in the fort hold out[2].
Caught between a now hostile Nassau and a British blockade, Teach is able to lead the fleet away by breaking the British line using a fireship[3].
The fleet then goes to Blackbeard's favorite haunt, Ocracoke Island. En route, they board a Spanish Merchant Ship.[4]
The fleet sails when they hear of Charles Vane's death. Teach and Rackham subsequently lead the fleet in battle against Commodore Chamberlain's fleet, defeating them and forcing them to retreat[5].
Season Four[]
The Eagle, the Walrus, the Defiant, and the Revenge compromise the pirate fleet that invades Nassau. They sail into the harbor, the Revenge goes to begin fring at the fort, which has no visible guns. The other three ships continue sailing into the harbor. Noticing the five sloops at anchor, Flint orders the Eagle to fire her larboard batteries at the sloops to hold them at bay. However, the three ships run aground on hulks sunk in the bay. The redcoats then pull covers off the cannons and begin pummeling the pirate ships. Eventually, Flint gives the order to abandon ship. The pirates descend into longboats via rope ladders and flee to the fallback position on the eastern shore. However, between the fort and the sloops, many pirates are killed or captured. The Eagle is destroyed by cannon-fire and sinks beneath the water, with only her masts visible[6].
Quotes[]
"Signal the Eagle to offer her larboard batteries to hold those sloops at bay."
