The Edwards Estate was one of the seven large slaveowning plantations on New Providence Island. While not as large or as wealthy as the Underhill Estate, it is still home to many slaves.
Layout[]
The Edwards Estate appears to have a similar layout to the Underhill Estate, with large fields and slave barracks surrounded by walls.
History[]
Background[]
After Mr. Scott's agents retrieved his weapons stockpile, the slaveowners became suspicous. To ensure that the slaves don't rebel or provide aid to the pirates, every slave family was dispersed among the seven plantations. If any of the estates were to fall to the pirates or rebellion, the relatives of the slaves would be tortured.
Season Four[]
After the Underhill Estate falls to the pirates, the slaves on the Edwards Estate are assembled to watch as some of them are tortured. An overseer, Sayle, gives a speech to them, reminding them that they're fates are bound together on the island. He tells them that they are being punished in response to the murders of Underhill and his family. A messenger then arrives and informs Sayle that Nassau has fallen to the pirates. Sayle orders a fellow overseer to get the slaves back in their barracks, and tells him that Nassau has fallen. One slave, Julius, then leads a rebellion, shooting Sayle and killing the overseers and presumably the Edwards Family. The rebellion spreads to the other estates, and Julius becomes the leader of a large army, that is just as angry at the pirates as they are the British.
Billy Bones sends word to the other estates threatening them not to harm the slaves on their estates as a reprisal against his conquest of the Underhill Estate. In response, Julius and his men send him a sack of white fingers.
