James McGraw’s grandfather was a fisherman in Padstow. In his youth, he served on a privateer ship that operated out of Boston. One night, while on watch, a man climbed aboard the ship and said he fled his fishing trawler after being accused of killing another man.
in a flashback to 1705, Thomas Hamilton tells his father that he wants to put the pirate raiders of Nassau to work at harvesting, tilling, smithing, coopering and fishing by offering them a Royal Pardon in exchange for their surrender.

Nassau is home to many fishermen.
The Guthrie Warehouse doubles as a butcher shop, and fish are often brought there to be cleaned and skinned.
Season Two[]
Meeks argues with the Warehouse Cashier over being shortchanged on the cargo from the Good Fortune prize due to the bloodstained barrels while several men work on cleaning and skinning fish.

Edward Teach and Charles Vane walk past a butcher’s tent in Nassau, where a fish is being skinned and cleaned.
Season Four[]
Many denizens of the Wrecks catch fish to feed themselves, hanging them out to dry outside their ramshackle dwellings.
John Silver wonders aloud and reveals that he has figured out Israel Hands’ identity while the latter skins a fish.
After the two work out a partnership, Hands catches a pair of fish, which he cooks and skewers. He throws Silver a skewered fish, and Silver remarks on how he is no longer shackled. Before the two can eat, they are forced to flee from a posse of Redcoats and militia.
