History[]

Season Two[]

The ship is chased by the pirate vessel, the Fancy. Captain Jefferson decides to surrender, wisely stating that if they behave rationally and civilly, so will the pirates, who don't gain anything from bloodshed. However, the first mate, Fogg is uneasy. When the pirates board, they are handed the Good Fortune's manifest. As Meeks reads through it and his men search the hold, he notices something he brings to the attention of his captain, Ned Low. All the pirates are called up, and they fire their weapons at the merchant crew in the well deck, slaughtering them. They then retrieve a sickly Abigail Ashe from the hold, capturing her with the intent of ransoming her to her father, Lord Peter Ashe, Governor of the Province of Carolina. They then burn the ship and depart for Nassau.

The pirates attempt to sell the Good Fortune's cargo to the Guthries in Nassau, however they refuse to pay full price for it because they have to repackage the cargo because it is covered in blood.

Eleanor Guthrie confronts Max and Jack Rackham. She tells them that she gave the lead on the Good Fortune, which was supposed to be an easy prize, to Captain Hallendale of the Straight Arrowwho spends lots time in the Inn. She asks them how the lead ended up in the hands of a lunatic, and Max answers that Captain Low paid 90 pieces for it.

Abigail Ashe has a nightmare that she is back on the Good Fortune, hiding belowdecks with Miranda Barlow while the crew of the ship is slaughtered. While they hide, trying to keep quiet, Miranda is grabbed by pirates and she envisions Ned Low's face before waking up.

Quotes[]

"The Good Fortune was captured yesterday but by a different captain who found her first, beat Hallendale to her, and then, instead of managing her surrender, he put her entire crew to the sword."
