Mr. Harrison was a spy in the employ of Captain Berringer

Biography []

Season Four[]

After her clandestine meeting with Long John Silver, Max is arrested by Lieutenant Burrell and brought before Mr. Harrison, Judge Adams and Captain Berringer. Once she is in the room, Berringer has Harrison tell his story. He tells them that he saw Max leave Nassau with six men. He stayed a considerable distance behind them to avoid detection. Harrison says he saw her meet with two men, one of whom had just one leg. Berringer tells Max he had Harrison follow her after she left so abruptly the previous night, and assumes that the one legged man was John Silver. Berringer asks Max if she’d like to tell them why she met with the pirate ringleader. Max tells them that she was summoned by Silver in a failed attempt to extort money from her. She adds that she hopes Mr. Harrison mentioned that four of her six men attempted to arrest Silver and died in the effort, and she was barely able to escape. She says she hopes this alleviates any doubts about her loyalty but Berringer retorts that it does not, but has aggravated them to an intolerable extent. Berringer then asks Judge Adams if the testimony presented satisfies a charge of treason, and Adams says that it does. Max asserts that the Governor will not allow this, but Berringer reminds her that the Governor is away, and he is in charge now. Berringer tells Max that she is under an indictment that carries the penalty of death with it. He says that Harrison trailed Silver to the Wrecks and there is a posse waiting in the square to apprehend him. Berringer finishes by telling Max that the pirate resistance dies today and if she cooperates, she may be able to avoid her death sentence.

Quotes[]

"Six men with you. They never looked my way as I stayed a considerable distance. Saw you meet two others late last night, one of them standing on just one leg. Saw it all."
