Season Three[]
Hersey is one of the Redcoats in the service of Woodes Rogers. After Jack Rackham is apprehended, he writes a letter at Rogers' behest to Anne Bonny, telling her to surrender and deliver the cache of gems to Rogers. Rackham tells Rogers to only send one man, for Anne will be wary. Rogers tells an officer to give the letter to Hersey and have him ready to be depart to the interior. Rogers says he'll give the details of the assignment to Hersey shortly. Eleanor warns Rogers to tell Hersey that Anne should not be underestimated, Rogers replies that Hersey should not be either.

Hersey travels to the interior on horseback and finds Anne. However, the message written by Jack has a hidden meaning- Anne is to run and hide. After reading the letter, Anne draws her blades and attacks. Hersey manages to dodge her first few swings and draw his own sword. He blocks her next attack but Anne stabs him in the gut with her second dagger, bringing him to his knees. She then finishes him off by cutting his throat. Hersey's body is later returned to Nassau by two other redcoats, stunning Rogers.
