Hog Island, also called "'the Hog," is a small island off the coast of Nassau and New Providence Island. It is named for the large population of wild hogs on the island.
Geography[]
The Hog is five miles to the northeast of Nassau Town. The channel between the Hog and New Providence can be sailed when the tide rises.
History[]
Season Two[]
After Flint is elected captain of the Spanish Man O' War, he orders that the ship anchor a mile north of the western tip of the Hog, well outside the view of Nassau Town. Silver tells this to the crew, causing some discontent, particularly from Dooley, who wants to go home. Silver explains that they need to warn Benjamin Hornigold to prevent a reactionary attack from Fort Nassau, which guards the bay from Spanish warships[1].
Season Three[]
Charles Vane asks Edward Teach if they can avoid Woodes Rogers' Fleet blockading the harbor by slipping through the east channel. Teach informs him that Rogers has maneuvered a frigate around the Hog, who'd rake any ship that emerged from the channel[2].
Season Four[]
Governor Woodes Rogers stations his fleet of five two masted ships by the Hog to guard the eastern end of the bay during the Invasion of Nassau. After the bulk of the Pirate Fleet is grounded on scuttled ships, Rogers sends his fleet to engage the defenseless pirates[3].

Trivia[]
- The Hog is now known as Paradise Island.
- Historically, pirates of New Providence often beached captured ships on the shore of the Hog in order to scrap them for parts. In the show however, The Wrecks, which are located on New Providence, appear to take the place of this location.
