Ireland is a country that is a client state of Great Britain. It is ruled by a Lord Lieutenant appointed by the King of Great Britain. Ireland has its own legislature, peerage, army, legal system and state church.
Geography[]
Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea and St George’s Channel.
People[]
The people of Ireland are largely descended from the original Gaelic settlers that inhabited it. Although largely Catholic, colonization by British Protestants has led to discrimination against the former.
History[]
Background[]
The territory of the Kingdom of Ireland had formerly been a lordship ruled by the kings of England, founded in 1177 by King Henry II after the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland. By the 1500s the area of English rule had decreased significantly, and most of the country by Gaelic Irish chiefdoms. Beginning in 1542, the English monarchs began reasserting English rule in Ireland, and began colonizing Ireland with Protestant English and Scottish settlers. Catholics, the majority in Ireland, experienced discrimination and there were multiple rebellions as a result of this, such as the Irish Confederate Wars from 1641-1653 and the Williamite-Jacobite War from 1689-1691.
Recent History[]

Season Two[]

He tells the pirates that his first mate leaned over to him, and does an imitation of an Irish accent and says that the first mate told him that Charles Town is resolved never to be fucked with.
Season Three[]
King George I is listed as the King of Great Britain, France and Ireland on the Royal Pardon certificates.
The Walrus crew encounters Irish sailor Ben Gunn, a fellow captive of the Maroons, and the only surviving member of his crew. After the crew makes a deal with the Maroons, Ben is freed and joins their crew.
Season Four[]
