Jack Rackham wrote this letter to Anne Bonny at Governor Woodes Rogers's behest, seemingly ordering her to surrender and hand over the Cache of Gems. In truth however, it ordered her to run, beginning a manhunt for her.

History[]

Season Three[]

Jack Rackham, Anne Bonny and Max took a large portion of the Urca Gold and exchanged them for more transportable commodities, creating the secret Cache of Gems that was split into two chests. When Governor Woodes Rogers and his fleet arrived, Jack and Anne fled with their cache while Max offered hers to Rogers to buy influence with him. However, Mrs. Hudson, Rogers's chambermaid, revealed that she was a spy for the Spanish and that they knew about the exchanges and were furious. The Spanish demanded that Rogers return all of the Urca de Lima prize gold, along with the converted caches, or a fleet of ten ships and 1,500 soldiers would be sent to raze Nassau.

Rackham, not knowing he was being searched for, returned to town to procure a Royal Pardon. He was promptly taken into custody by Rogers's men. The Governor then explains the situation, and Jack agrees to help him, promising to get Anne to surrender the cache by writing a letter, but on the condition that only one man be sent to deliver the letter. Jack's letter explains that Rogers and Spain know about the cache and it represents a threat to them, Rogers and Nassau. It tells her to return with the bearer of the letter to Nassau with the cache, and that a pardon awaits. Rogers reads the letter and approves it, ordering Lieutenant Hersey to deliver it. However, as Rackham reveals to Max, the letter is written in a way to tell Anne to run with the cache. When Hersey meets with Anne, she promptly kills him and flees with the cache. Hersey's body is eventually found, and Rackham is imprisoned while Anne hides[1].
