In a flashback to 1705, Lady Miranda Hamilton asks her husband’s associate, Lieutenant James McGraw, to join her in going to see the Grey’s collection of Egyptian artifacts, which is one of the largest in Europe. However, on the way to the Grey’s, McGraw redirects the carriage back to Hamilton’s, out of fear that the appearance of him and Miranda together without her husband would appear improper.
