Biography[]
Background[]
At some point, Lady Ashe married Lord Peter Ashe, an influential member of Parliament, and eventually gave birth to a daughter, Abigail. She, like her husband, was close friends with Lord Thomas Hamilton and his wife Miranda.
At some point prior to her husband gaining the title of Governor of Carolina, it appears that Lady Ashe died.
Season Two[]
Abigail tells Eleanor that she remembers Miranda Hamilton (now going by Barlow) and her home, and how she would visit with her mother and father. She also remembers how Miranda used to talk with her mother and make her laugh.
Miranda remarks to Flint that when she first heard that Abigail was on New Providence, she pictured a five year old hiding behind her mother’s dress, but realized that she was a woman grown when she actually saw her.
Quotes[]
"I remember watching her talk with my mother from across the room and how she'd make my mother laugh."
- Abigail to Eleanor in XV.
