The Medicine Man is a healer and religious leader among the Maroons at the Maroon Camp.
Biography[]
Season Three[]
The Medicine Man presides over a healing ceremony for Mr. Scott after he is returned to the Maroon Camp grievously wounded. The Medicine Man wears an elaborate costume and mask and rubs a white powder on Mr. Scott’s legs and forehead while drums are played. As he does this, the Medicine Man chants and then begins throwing the white powder into the air.
The Medicine Man leads the funeral ceremony for Mr. Scott after he succumbs to his wounds. The Medicine Man stands over Mr. Scott’s body and a goat is brought before him. The Medicine Man cuts its throat and pours its blood into a bowl.
