Biography[]
Background[]
After learning that all the Guthries in Nassau had been killed or exiled, Edward Teach decided to resume his pirate career after an eight year hiatus. He took over the Merchant Captain’s ship, and began sailing to Nassau.
Season Three[]
While stopped in Bath, Carolina, the ship is boarded by three men, who confront Teach in his cabin. The three men introduce themselves as the brothers of Mary, Teach’s most recent ex wife, and they know him by his alias, Drummond. The brothers demand that Teach return to Mary or they will kill him. Teach then reveals his identity as the notorious pirate, Blackbeard, and kills the three brothers. The Merchant Captain anxiously waits outside while he hears the gunshots, and Tom, one of the brothers, manages to crawl towards the Captain’s feet before dying. Teach then tells the Merchant Captain that “Nassau awaits.” It is unknown what happens to him when the ship reaches Nassau, but Teach continues to use the ship.
