Hi Uskok! We have a signed Bear McCreary Black Sails CD and I'd love to send it to you if you'd like it! Please email us at email@example.com with your mailing address. If not, we can do a giveaway or offer it to another admin, but I wanted to offer it to you first :) Thanks for all of the wonderful hard work you do here!
"Houskeeping"...what was wrong with them? I'm new & still learning here. I'd actually like some deleted that have errors & can't remove them. Could you please tell me how & why you removed "Queen Anne's Revenge" & the other stuff?
Maybe because those images were A - not related to Black Sails, and B - fan made. This Wiki is not a free host or webpage provider. Every image needs to come from some Black Sails-related source. Fan-made images and images not related to Black Sails will be deleted.
I did not make the "Queen Anne's Revenge" but added text to 2 Toby Stephens images I'd like to delete because I thought Flint was going to die for real...it was sort of "In Loving Memory" vigil thing. What was the other problem just so I know? (Or know not to do it again)
Anne Bonny was the other one? If it was the painting, I didn't create it, but found it on a search for pics of Anne Bonny. Most of them are interpretations of what she looked like since photos were not available back then.
In the novel the treasure is so big (silver bars, gold coins, arms) it had to be divided into three piles and buried separately on three different locations on the island. In the series we have one chest of jewels.
In the novel the treasure was buried by Flint and six pirates. When the treasure was buried, Flint killed them all and then positioned one corpse to serve as a pointer toward the main bulk of the treasure. The whole time Billy Bones and John Silver were on the Walrus and when Flint returned the ship sailed away to hunt for even more treasure.
In the novel John Silver's leg was shattered by a cannonball. In the series the leg was smashed by Jenks.
In the novel John Silver was already a pirate before he joined Flint's crew, serving under Edward England. In the series he's a merchant sailor.
In the novel Flint draws a treasure map. There is no map in the series.
In the novel Flint dies as a pirate from drinking too much rum. Before he dies he gives the treasure map to Billy Bones, who is Flint's loyal first mate. In the series, Flint willingly goes to a prison and Billy is a quartermaster who gets demoted and becomes Flint's mortal enemy.
In the novel John Silver is a pirate through and through. The only goal of his life is to get his hands on Flint's treasure. In the series he becomes a peace-loving philosopher who doesn't care about the money at all.
In the novel Israel Hands served as a gunner on the Walrus. In the series he doesn't even touch a cannon.
I personally don't care that they took a few liberties in relation to Treasure Island, in order to tell a good story; after all they took plenty with historical accuracy too. I felt the ending was satisfying, but a little too sweet on the bitter-sweet ending scale. Too many characters got happy endings for such a tragic tale. I reckon John Silver should have been left still waiting for Madi to forgive him and wondering if Flint was right after all.
Greetings! I am wondering if I could add some new pictures up for the characters. I found some and wondering if I have your permission. Also I am looking for somebody to make a wiki logo custom for me?
Good afternoon. I am the founder and bureaucrat of the Wiki Black Sails Brasil, and I am here waiting for your permission to translate your pages and articles to the Portuguese, so we can expand the culture of Black Sails also to Brazil!
Thanks for the attention and congratulations, great work here on the wiki.
I'm new here but i am a huge fan of E.Teach (Blackbeard) The real one ;)
So i was exited to see him in this show and read his informations here in this wiki. But in the trivia informations it is written that his ship the Queen Anne's revenge did not appeared in the show so far. This is wrong. Ep21 minute 54 capt Hornigold passes a Galleon with the flag of Blackbeard himself standing on the ship as well. Please correct this. Maybe some fans are interested in this fact. =)
Aye Carumba! I've missed the entire season more or less! My wife had a baby and I was in the hospital for pneumonia for nearly 3 weeks. Sorry I haven't been any use this season.
Question: did something change on the website where we aren't able to see the numbers of visitors anymore? On the bottom toolbar, there used to be an Admin button that allowed us to see the daily visitors. Do you still have that?
In the last episode, when Madi was speaking to her father, Mr. Scott, she said "You have daughters on both sides." That was after she mentioned Eleanor and her rise to power once more through the new govenor. Then Mr. Scott said right before he died, that he only had one daughter, Madi. But you could tell he said it was some contempt and regret.
Madi said that because her father had spent most of his time in Nassau taking care of Eleanor. And it was inevitable that, during all those years, some sort of familial bond would would be created. She knew the relationship they had resembled a father/daughter one and that Mr. Scott cared deeply for Eleanor. But in the end, he reassured her that even though he did care for Eleanor, Madi was truly the only daughter he ever had, by saying "Only you".
Seriously is this discussion still going on. Mr Scott is certainly not Eleanor's biological father. He took care of her probably from a baby. Madi and Eleanor used to play together before Madi moved to the Maroons Island. Mr Scott educated Eleanor. It was Mr Scott's rule, not her fathers, that Eleanor could not go down to the beach when she was 13 when Vane first saw her. When her father abandoned Eleanor in Nassau, Mr Scott stayed with her. Eleanor was essentially Mr Scott's adopted daughter. The reason for the scene was to show how much Mr Scott loves Madi.
Don't worry, I will not be posting any more questions or opinions on this subject. Right or wrong, I'm entitled to my opinion. Any negativity towards me or my question, was not necessary. I was trying to have an open discussion, which I thought was allowed here. My bad.
This is probably pointless so no idea why i should try. First sorry to bother you on a different wiki since that seems to annoy the other admins. But i am being treated completely unfairly i was banned tried to talk to an admin on the mcu wiki(there is no way to do this) So i go to their other wiki pages and try and explain my actions and am just repeatedly shut down and then have the ban expanded for contacting them on a different wiki when not only is that the only means of doing so another admin said i HAD to do it that way. I know this is just going to get me in more trouble but it isn't fair! i edited a page twice thats it! I didn't even do it maliciously i explained my self in the publish window confered with people in the comments that agreed posted links to interviews with the information i had then i edited it! Of course i had to be wrong so all the comments i made clarifying with others and posting interviews "mysteriously" disappeared then i get banned for a month! then complaining about it in the only means available(instructed to do so by an admin) just increases it? Why am i being treated as a criminal?
