Biography[]
Season Four[]
The Nassau Merchant is one of the allies of Governor Woodes Rogers who is able to seek refuge in Fort Nassau in the wake of the pirates retaking control of Nassau Town[1].
After the Spanish fleet is spotted sailing towards Nassau, the Merchant joins Soames, Frasier and Max in trying to decide a plan and course of action. Frasier advocates surrendering, to which Soames refuses, warning that Spanish forces will offer no quarter. Max quiets them when she notices Lieutenant Utley walking towards them, and he reports that the Spanish flagship is posting Governor Rogers’ signals ordering them to stand down. Soames concludes that the Governor has enlisted the Spanish in helping them drive out the pirates, and they will follow orders and wait out the invasion in the fort. Max reminds them that Eleanor is still outside the fort, but no one wants to try and warn her because the invasion will be fully underway by the time anyone finds her. Max decides to try and rescue her anyway, and departs on horseback[2].
