Nelson is an influential pirate serving aboard the Walrus under the command of Captain Flint.

Season One[]
Knowing that impending election for the captaincy of the Walrus does not look good for Flint, Gates borrows 1000 pieces of eight from Eleanor Guthrie and gets to work buying back votes. He successfully bribed Nelson and his men and Muldoon and the Welsh for a total of 16 votes.
Gates, down eight votes, approaches Mosiah, the leader a group of Africans on the crew who controls a total of nine votes, and explains his predicament, and is able to negotiate with him to bring his votes over to Flint's camp.
As he is not seen again after the battle against the Spanish Man O' War, he is presumed killed.
