Biography []

Season Four []

Obi serves as one of Madi's bodyguards following her on the Walrus. However, the Walrus, Defiant and Eagle are grounded on scuttled ships in the bay and are subsequently hammered by Fort Nassau's cannons. Eventually, Flint orders that they abandon ship, and Obi escorts her to one of the longboats. When Rogers' sloops began shooting at the boats, he returned fire. The survivors of the battle rendezvous at the eastern shore, where they are met by Billy Bones and the Pirate Resistance, and he returns with them to Miranda Barlow's estate[1].

Obi continues protecting Madi and participates in the taking of the Underhill plantation. When the pirate army splits between Flint and Billy, he follows Madi in sliding with Flint and protects her when the two sides open fire on each other. He retreats with her when the plantation militia arrive[2].

Obi along with the rest of Flint's faction retreat to an abandoned, dilapidated house somewhere on the island. He voices his opinion that the group has no choice but to leave the island and that no slaves will fight with the pirates after Billy remained at the estate despite the consequences it entailed. Madi rebukes him, telling him that while Billy may be their enemy, Flint is not and that many pirates fought with them at terrible cost, silencing him. Later, he witnesses the reunion between Madi and Silver. He follows Flint and Silver into Nassau, where along with the townspeople of Nassau and Billy's men, they drive the British forces out of Nassau Town[3].

After Nassau falls to the pirates, Obi continues to guard Madi. He follows her to the Underhill estate to repair the alliance between the slaves and the pirates[4]. He and Zaki escort her when Madi attempts to free Flint, thinking that the cache would be delivered to the location of the meeting with Eleanor. However it is Jack Rackham who arrives at the beach, not Kofi with the cache[5].

When Eleanor decides to take Flint back to the fort, Madi, Obi and Zaki follow her to insure that no harm befalls Flint. However, they are forced to detour to Miranda's house when the Spanish invade. While Eleanor and Madi stay in the house, he joins Flint, Zaki and Eleanor's six redcoats in killing a small group of Spanish soldiers. Along with Flint and three of the remaining redcoats, he pursues three Spanish soldiers who witnessed the scene to prevent them from fetching reinforcements, leaving Zaki and a redcoat to guard the house. When he returns, he is distraught to learn that his charged was killed by a Spaniard who was presumed dead[6].

Skeleton Island

Obi, Joji and De Groot (all at far right) stare at the wreck on Skeleton Island

Obi returns to the Maroon Camp along with the remaining pirates and slaves after the Spanish invasion aboard the Walrus.  After learning that Madi is alive, with Rogers demanding the gems for her release, the Walrus sails for Nassau with the intent to rescue Madi from the Governor. Silver secretly has the gems dug up and it is guarded in the ship's hold by Obi and Kofi[7].

The Walrus returns to Nassau under the cover of night, and Kofi is sent on a reconnaissance mission into town to find out where Madi is being held so they can then formulate a more comprehensive rescue plan. The next morning, they find that Governor Rogers slipped his ship behind them during the night. As they sail towards the Eurydice, Dooley tells them to watch her rails, and Obi and others use spyglasses to see Rogers display a captured Kofi, his men, and Madi. Rogers then begins executing Kofi and his men one by one. Flint tries to order the crew to open their gunports and threaten to attack, but Silver orders that instead they signal Rogers and display the cache for him to see, shocking Flint. Just as Rogers is about to shoot Madi, he notices the Walrus's signal and spares her, before setting sail for Skeleton Island. When they arrive, he stands next to Joji as they stare at the wrecked ship in the inlet. He stays aboard the ship, which is left in De Groot's hands while Silver leads a party ashore to reclaim the treasure stolen by Captain Flint[8].

Silver is given until sunrise the next day to recover the cache. However, Rogers double crosses him and has his men swim under the cover of the mist to the stern of the Walrus and set it on fire. After De Groot's efforts fail to stop the blaze, he orders the crew to abandon ship before the fire reaches the powder magazines. As Obi and the rest of the crew struggle to swim to shore, Rogers's men surround them in longboats and begin picking them off, while the Walrus explodes when the magazine is ignited[9].

Obi survives the burning of the Walrus and makes it to shore where he is picked up by Jack Rackham aboard the Lion. He participates in, and survives, the ensuing fight aboard the Eurydice, capturing a Redcoat at sword point. Obi returns to the Maroon Camp when Silver delivers the plan for the pardon for all the remaining Maroon and pirate forces and accepts[10].
