Ocracoke Island is an island off the coast of Carolina. It was a favourite anchorage of the infamous pirate Blackbeard.

History[]

Background[]

Ocracoke was a favorite haunt of Edward Teach during his pirating days, for the island had good anchorages and was largely unpopulated, save for a community of prostitutes. However, after Teach retired, their business largely dried up. There is a camp on the beach constructed of repurposed ship equipment such as sails, masts and spars.

Season Three[]

After the Pirate Fleet escapes Nassau, they sail for Ocracoke, taking a Spanish prize on the way. Once there, Teach reunites with his former lover Netta, and the pirates amuse themselves by drinking, brawling and engaging in the service of prostitutes.

Flint arrives on the Walrusseeking to reclaim the Pirate Fleet. He, Teach and Vane meet on the beach with their officers. Flint tells them how he survived Hornigold, a tempest, starvation and imprisonment by his new Maroon allies. Flint wants to reclaim Nassau and begin a war against the British Empire and freeing their slaves. Teach insists that Nassau is in their past and Vane agrees. To prevent Flint from trying to divide his fleet, Teach challenges Flint to a duel. The two first face off with pistols, Flint almost kills Teach but the shot just grazes his face. The two then fight with swords, and Teach steadily hammers Flint down until he is about to land the final blow when Vane intervenes. Vane drives Teach away from Flint before throwing his sword down. An enraged Teach orders Flint to take Vane and leave Ocracoke.

Ellers learns of Vane's hanging by Woodes Rogers in Nassau. He informs Teach, and asks what Teach plans to do about it.
