The Old World is a term used to refer to Europe, Asia and Africa (the World Island), which was collectively regarded as the known world before its population came into contact with the New World (the Americas)


History[]

Season One[]

Pastor Lambrick informs Miranda Barlow that His Majesty’s Ship the Scarborough of the Royal Navy docked in Harbour Island recently, and that King George means to reassert colonial rule on New Providence Island

Season Two[]

Abigail Ashe writes in her journal that from across an ocean, it is hard to know exactly what is the New World. However, after traversing the ocean that separates the Old World from the New, she worries that the stories she has heard may have clouded the truth rather than clarified it.

At Charles Town, Flint proposes complete reconciliation between Nassau and the British Empire, a return to colonial rule with an existing power structure already in place. 

Season Three[]

Flint tells John Silver how in his past, he worked with Miranda Barlow, her husband and Lord Peter Ashe towards the goal of returning colonial rule to Nassau. 

Flint manages to convince his Maroon captors to free him and his men, and join him on a quest to rid the New World of colonial rule. 

Season Four[]

While walking to the southern coast to complete their deal, Flint tells Eleanor that there was a time where she also saw the benefit of being free of British rule and making the New World something more than an extension of the Old. 

At the Maroon Camp, Flint tells Long John Silver that all the Maroons and pirate crews that have gathered at the Camp are all dedicated to the goal of ridding the New World of colonial rule. 

Jack Rackham defends his bringing on Mark Read to their crew to Anne Bonny by mentioning that she fought in the British Regulars in Continental Europe during the War of the Quadruple Alliance.
