Panama City is a port city on the isthmus of Darien, part of the Viceroyalty of Peru, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

Background[]
Panama City was founded in 1519 by Spaniards. It became an important transport point for gold and silver headed back to Spain through the isthmus.
In 1671, British privateer Henry Morgan led 1,400 men in attacking and plundering the city. The city was then destroyed by the fire that the privateers set. A new settlement was founded with the same name five miles southwest.
Season Four[]
Flint and the Pirate-Maroon alliance discuss possible first strikes on St. Ann's Bay, Bridgetown and the fact that the rest of Barbados has fallen to a slave rebellion. A Maroon Chief believes he could recruit seven or eight hundred men. Flint then calculates that that would mean they would have 1,200 men to land anywhere they wished with ships to support the landing. Flint remarks that it is similar to what Henry Morgan had when he sacked Panama. Flint says that they could sack Boston with that force.
