History[]
Season Three[]
The sloop and her crew are rallied to the defense of Nassau against the incoming Governor Woodes Rogers and his fleet by Jack Rackham. When the British fleet arrives, the Pirate Fleet assembles in a firing line at the mouth of the harbor with Edward Teach in command. Captain Benjamin Hornigold, formerly one of the most respected pirate captains of New Providence, is sent by the British to read Governor Rogers' address under a flag of truce. Teach lets him pass, knowing that firing on him would cause friction in the fragile pirate alliance. At the beach, Hornigold reads the address, which promises pardons for every pirate that surrenders to the British, and a £10,000 bounty on the killer or captor of Charles Vane. The pirates on the beach surrender en masse, but the fleet and the Crew of the Colonial Dawn in the fort hold out.[1]
After Teach helps Vane escape the bounty seekers, they launch their escape plan at nightfall. Vane sails his schooner, which has been converted into a fireship, at the British line, causing them to disperse and allowing the fleet to escape.[2]
The fleet sails to Ocracoke Island. En route, they encounter a Spanish Merchant Ship, which they pursue and capture.[3] Afterwards, they make landfall at Ocracoke, and the crews go on shore to relax and enjoy themselves. Shortly after, Flint arrives and challenges Teach for control of the fleet. The two duel, and Teach almost kills Flint until Vane intervenes, and Teach exiles them both from the island.[4]
After hearing of Vane's death, Teach sails the fleet to the Maroon Island flying British colors and dressed as British sailors and soldiers. Jack Rackham meets with Teach, and informs him that the bulk of Rogers' forces are at the island, with his British Regulars attacking Flint on the beach while their fleet sits in the bay. Teach agrees to join forces with Rackham and Flint to avenge Vane's death. The fleet sails toward the British fleet, still flying British flags, when they are asked for their fleet identification. They then raise the Black, and the two fleets assemble in firing lines and exchange rounds of cannon fire. However, the vanguard led by Anne Bonny is able to swim aboard the Orion, take over the ship and fire her stern chasers into the bow of the British flagship. As Teach starts sailing towards the crippled flagship, the British fleet retreats.[5]
Season Four[]
The sloop is not part of the fleet that tries to invade Nassau. It is possible that it was left behind to guard the Maroon Island.[6]
