Sam Bellamy, also known as Black Sam, was one of the founders of the Pirate Republic and a notorious pirate captain.

Biography[]

Season Three[]

Bellamy is mentioned by Jack Rackham to Edward Teach  in the same vein as Henry Jennings and Benjamin Hornigold as captains who gave Nassau life when trying to come up with reasons to defend it .

Teach mentiones having sailed with Bellamy to Flint, saying that they all knew exactly who they were, but when Flint was in the Royal Navy and now, he keeps trying to get the pirates to be something else.

Quotes[]

Teach: "Why are you so determined to defend Nassau?"

Rackham: "Because Henry Avery set his camp here and said 'this is a place for free men.' Because you sailed from here and made this place feared. Because Henry Jennings and Benjamin Hornigold and Sam Bellamy gave Nassau life."

- Teach and Rackham in XX.

Trivia[]

  • Although he is mentioned as having been one of the founders of the Republic of Pirates in 1705, he actually only became a pirate in 1715, and would have been 16 in 1705.
