Maroon warriors&prisoners

The Walrus crew is captured by Maroons.

Spears are, at the most basic level, a long wooden shaft with a pointed metal tip used for thrusting or throwing. Over time, the weapon evolved to include a variety of designs. They are a popular weapon amongst Maroons

Types of Spears[]

  • Spear: A spear is a pole weapon consisting of a wooden shaft with a pointed head. The head may simply be the sharpened end of the shaft, but often the head is made of metal.
  • Harpoon: A harpoon is a long spear-lie instrument used in fishing, whaling and other marine hunting to catch large fish or marine mammals. Harpoons are thrown and impale the target animal, and it is secured by a barb or toggling claws which allows the fishermen to use a rope or chain attached to the butt of the weapon to catch the animal. It can also be used as a weapon.
  • Lance: The lance is a pole weapon designed to be used by mounted warriors or cavalry soldiers (lancers). It became the leading weapon in cavalry charges, and was unsuited for throwing or repeated thrusting. Although considered to be primarily a medieval weapon, it experienced a revival in the 18th century.
  • Halberd: Halberds are two handed pole weapons that came to prominent use in the 14th and 15th centuries. The weapon consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft. It also has a hook or thorn on the backside of the blade for battling mounted combatants. Sergeants in the British Army use halberds to signal their troops. They are more ceremonial in purpose than for combat use.
