Biography[]
Season One[]
Thompson was one of the vast majority of his crew who joined the crew of Captain Flint after Eleanor Guthrie threatens them. The Walrus and the Ranger are confronted by a Spanish Man O’ War. After Flint kills Gates, Flint tells his crew that Gates’ heart gave out, and orders Logan to signal the Ranger and inform Mr. Thompson that he is in command now. The Ranger is ordered to fly the black and sail away from the Walrus, which will pretend to be an attacked Spanish merchant vessel. Once the Spanish warship is lured between the two pirate ships, the Walrus will fire, which will be the signal for the Ranger to turn and bring her broadsides to bear on the Man O’ War. While initially successful, the Spanish Man O’ War is able to turn and counter the pirates with her own broadsides. The two pirate ships are pummeled by the cannon fire of the Spanish, and the Ranger’s powder magazine is ignited and explodes, going down with all hands. The Walrus is able to limp away and the crew beaches it on the shores of Florida.
Quotes[]
“Mr. Logan, signal Mr. Thompson on the Ranger, inform him he’s now in command. His orders are to sail north. When we fire at the target, he’s to tack hard to port and do the same.” - Flint to Logan in VIII.
